My oldest son wants to go cross-country in an RV. Personally, I would like that as well. We don’t have an RV so I asked my friend Sue some questions about renting one. Sue and her family own Interlake RV Park in Rhinebeck, NY, about 10 minutes from our home in the village. She was very quick to offer us the chance to stay for a day or two at her site in one of the many rentals they have on the property. I am telling you, this is such a cool place. We have our own RV on our own site with 4 bunk beds, a master bedroom, full bath, eating area, sitting area and kitchen. There is a screened-in porch off the entrance that is furnished with comfortable Adirondack style chairs and a patio set for 4. A few feet away from the porch is a gas grill and barbecue pit. I think the first thing that struck us was how spotless the rental was. Seriously, the sliding doors leading you inside were so crystal clear that I walked right into them, knocking my eye glasses right off my head! Ha! I fooled so feelish. If I could take a picture of my nose and cheek print I would; even at the expense of my pride.
I have added some pictures of the lake area, but they really do not show the natural beauty of the area.
Dig this! I saw a Blue Heron, Cedar Waxwings and (drum roll…) a Kingfisher. I have a sharp pencil and my field guide is open so look out!
Thank you Susan and Tina for providing us with an AWESOME get away. We love you!

I grew up right down the street from Interlake… it's beautiful there, isn't it? If you get a chance to walk down Long Pond Rd a little ways, you'll see the house my dad built at 47 Long Pond. Have a great time!
