And just like that {{shesnapsfingers}} two years have passed. It has been too long since I last sat down to write. Where does the time go? It has been a full and eventful time, to be sure.
There are two significant updates I wish to share. We lost our treasured Razzle in November 2022. Razz lived a long and inspiring life where he did what Goldies do…bring joy, melt hearts! We were with him and held him as he passed. Not a day goes by, folks…not a day goes by.
Enter Carver. Born two days before Thanksgiving in 2021, my husband chose the fitting name of Carver.
Carver and Razz were brothers for one year and during that time, Carver tortured the tar out of Razz (as any little brother is wont to do!) Allow me to indulge you with some photos.

What these photos don’t tell you is how much Carver loves yarn. That would be 400 yds of super fine lace weight alpaca all knotted up there. Thank you very much.
There have been chewed on skeins of sock yarn and de-pom-pomed caps galore. Needless to say, there were many months of NO KNITTING! Now, y’all have known me long enough to know what happens when I don’t knit. It’s bad.
But now he’s two! And suddenly, he is a good boi. Well, almost.
::sigh::

Welcome back!! (cue the Kotter theme music) So glad to hear from you again! I love Carver, and hugs for the loss of Razz. I have raised two kittens since the shutdown and I am a huge fan of plastic bins with latching lids because… yarn loving cats!! The minute I put the yarn down, it is either covered up or safely latched into the plastic bin. It is a pain, but they are so cute, so there I am. Luckily they do let me knit, and I’m hoping that Carver is the same.

I’ve been having adventures while you were away. 🙂 I developed lung complications, had a biopsy that landed me into the ICU for a few days, struggled with a newly approved drug, and now I’m pretty much stable again. Almost as much commotion as a new puppy, huh!
Through it all, I had the kitties, good friends, and the comfort/challenge of knitting.

We got a puppy right before last Christmas and she will let me knit as long as she’s sitting on my lap. Makes for slow knitting.

Oh, Patti! My little guy snuck a skein of Opal sock yarn out of my bag as I was knitting. Chewed the top right off. I had dozens of yarn ends. It was not good! So nice to hear from you! ❤️

Maverick is 5 and a half. No signs of slowing down. I’m sorry – but misery loves company, you know! And Goldens tend to be puppies till the day they cross the Bridge, but that’s part of their charm.

I wanted to write more but I was on my phone and I don’t do well typing there. I’m so sorry about Razz, he was the best boy ever. It’s a hard hard thing when we lose one of our fur kids. Carver sounds like a Maverick clone – although Maverick never got into my yarn. Well, not yet. One never knows what he’ll get into next. I’m so glad to see you back!

Thank you! Razz was so special-to us and everyone he met. He was one in a million. I’ll be honest, it took me a while to really get used to Carver’s personality because I so desperately wanted him to be like Razz. Now I am loving him for the goofy boy that he is!

Thank you, Sue! So nice to hear from you. It took me the better part of a week to pull that yarn apart. Fortunately, the weather was starting to warm up and I sat on the deck with a glass of wine and just took my time.

Welcome back!! I have wondered about you! We lost our Max two years ago this January. Enter Bandit who has been soooooo naughty, but things seem to be changing in the last couple of weeks so we hope! I have chewed up sock yarn too…😔
