“Jesus is Coming. Look busy!”

Saw this on a bumper sticker and it cracked me up. Seriously though. What’s all the fuss about being busy. I think it is highly overrated and I’m pretty sure Jesus would agree. That being said, I want to update you on what’s been happening in the Cosmicknitter Universe. Since the Universe was not made in one day, I think I’ll see what territory I can cover in 7 days…ok, 6 days-Sunday is the Superbowl.

I finished two sweet pairs of socks in the fall. The first pair was on some self-striping commercial yarn I found at Michael’s with purple as the dominant color.  You can find my project page here: School Spirit Socks

School Spirit Friday socks.

I wish I made the heel flap longer. Even though I hand wash/line dry these, I notice they are showing fatigue in the usual spots. They are warm and pretty none the less.

The pattern is a blending of two sources; the love child of Susan B Anderson’s ‘How I Make My Socks‘ and Mina Philipp’s  How to Knit Socks – Two At A Time Cuff Down.

I cast on and knit the cuff on US 2 Karbonz, and transferred them to 2 US Addi Sock Rockets, working two-at-a-time on one long circular needle. I don’t know why I was intimidated by casting on with the magic loop. Why am I so lacking in confidence? Why? Does it matter? Nope. I don’t mind the ride as long as I get there in one piece.

~As an aside, I really don’t like this font.
